Laos to Send Student to Compete at 5th Asian Contest of Architectural Rookies Award

National University of Laos will send a student to represent Laos at the 5th Asian Contest of Architectural Rookies Award in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, scheduled for Sep 29-Oct 2.Ms Philavanh Vayouphack, a third year student at the Faculty of Architecture, has won the architecture competition outperforming 46 other students and representatives from across the country.  She will represent Laos at the international event.     

“Last month, we organized an architecture competition at the Faculty of Architecture of the National University of Laos to select a representative to compete at the 5th Asian Contest of Architectural Rookies Award,” Mr. Bounthavay Keopanya, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the National University of Laos, told the media last week.

The 5th Asian Contest will draw representatives from 17 countries including Japan, China, R. Korea, Viet Nam, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Lao PDR, Mongolia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

The Asian Architecture Rookie Awards competition annually brings together representative students who have been selected at various national competitions around Asia.
